@Lassielmr @msquebanh
The interesting pattern in recent decades is that China's narrow self-interest has been less destructive then that of the US though. I guess because their economy has a broad range of goods to sell, whereas the US only exports bullshit and guns.

@lowqualityfacts As a workaround, you can multiply 3 by 9 though.
@ariadne When I put pmOS on a desktop I actually went the other way around: install alpine first and then switch the repositories and update. I had asked around in the SXMO mailing before, and this seemed to be the recommended way to do it. See: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Existing_Alpine_installation
@jonny I am 100% convinced that this is it right there: "Maybe organizing on the surveillance machine and communicating on the outrage megaphone where every uprising gets liquidated into Content is worse than nothing."
Which is why I always roll my eyes when some claims old Twitter was good for activists. Sure it could create some very impressive bursts of attention for some causes, but I can't think of a single one that actually achieved its real-life goals.
@evan Since IoT is already a total security trashfire right now, I think federating it would only make it worse. So for the moment I'm strongly negative, though open to change once the more important issues of ownership and security are dealt with.
@lowqualityfacts Starting to slip some actual real facts into the feed, are we?
@stiofi The answer I always see to this is Trime, even though I haven't actually gotten it to work myself yet: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.osfans.trime/
@carnage4life The key question is whether the exec in question signed off on the months of development spent on the dashboard. Because if they did, and then realised they just needed a daily snapshot by email, that is pretty stupid.
@anantagd Alles is sportverslaggeving tegenwoordig. Dat komt ervan als er geen budgetten zijn om journalisten degelijk onderzoek te laten doen, vlug commentaar geven op de "wedstrijd" van de dag is veel goedkoper.
@babe If you think that's bad, I've met people *in real life* who think Australia is real, with platypuses and everything.
@mhoye I don't know C, and as a result I scored 5/5
@shauna I switched to using @phanpy. The "boost carousel" is a great UI feature that allows you to still check out boost when you have time, while also being able to quickly scroll through the post of only people you follow. As far as I can tell it works the same way for lists as for the home timeline, though I haven't used lists that much myself yet.
@neil I propose we start using the .pdfy file extension for PDFs that should have been in a more useful format instead.
@carnage4life It's short for "await the heat death of the universe"
@babe So you're saying that I should have put a "CW: joke" on my reply?
@ZachWeinersmith Sorry if this is a rhetorical question, but surely the answer has to be SEO.
@babe This is the first time I'm engaging in CW nagging, but those photos could really do with an NSFW tag
@QuietlyUninspiring That might work yes, though even then it probably makes more sense to wait for the summer, and focus on more urgent needs now.
@QuietlyUninspiring Based mostly on his performances for the Belgium national team, I think he's a double pivot player rather than a lone 6, so I'm not convinced he'd fit the bill at #Arsenal.
@raymondpert It's all favourable conditions until you get into a business dispute with one of the locals...
