"while it's true i don't like u, don't feel special, i don't like anyone!" -- annoyed violet-bellied hummingbird

(i have photo'd 50 species of hummingbirds, some better than others, this flying photo is one i worked hard to get handheld...)

A hovering hummingbird is aggressively flashing his colors -- green on the head with an iridescent deep violet belly. His bill is open as if scolding. And his wings are blurred while he pumps to hold position. The background is the blurred green of the nearby forest. This infuriated birb is the male Violet-bellied Hummingbird. Canopy Tower, Panama. Photo by Peachfront. April 2025.
