Statuette of Asklepios Enthroned (Corinth, Greece)

This statuette was among several found in excavations of a Roman domus on the site of ancient Corinth. It depicts Asklepios, the god of healing, seated on a throne with his feet on a footstool. There are remnants of red paint and gold leaf. The piece measures about 16". It has been dated to the second or third century C.E. Corinth Museum, inv.
