We are hiking out of the forest onto a large sun-drenched meadow beneath a soft blue sky streaked with hazy white clouds. It is the transition time between late spring and early summer here; the grass is lush and long, the trees of the surrounding forest are intensely green. The early evening sun shines down through a grove of tall trees to our left.
