A birch leaf fell onto two wild garlic shoots, which had pushed their way through it. Because it hadn't rained for ten days, the dry birch leaf effectively prevented the much larger wild garlic leaves from unfurling.

Less than an hour after the photo was taken, it started to rain, and the birch leaf was torn. The next day, there was no sign that the leaves had been so tightly confined.
