This video is so depressing.
This video is so depressing.
@Gargron everything is depressing.
@Gargron the cause of this horror is the stupid consumer buying it. "Dumb fucks", according to Mark Zuckerbergs description.
@Gargron AI isn’t making people dumber. It’s amplifying how people already think. Most people were never reflecting on their thinking—they were reacting and signaling. AI was meant to remove monotony and refine understanding, not replace cognition. But when that isn’t how it’s used, it becomes a tool for content and social signaling, just like social media. That dynamic accelerates fragmentation, not insight.
@Gargron A YouTuber asked for feedback on their use of AI (Suno, it turns out) to create a custom song for their video.
They had a long defensive reply, but it included this propaganda they'd imbibed "If it learned the algorithms that creates music it is no different than any human that has learned music from their predecessors. " #FuckAI
@gargron ACcelerationists Are Bastards.
@Gargron I am so opposed to AI in all its forms. The first 2 minutes were already depressing enough, for again it's someone's (the Suno man's) power, overwhelming everybody, way before anyone can intervene saying it's not such a good idea. It's like a big muscle guy imposing his force on a young woman without her consent. I hate that very much.
@Gargron Just watched the beginning of the video. Pitching generative AI as a video game analogy to make music, talking about "multiplayer mode" is the most depressing thing I've heard this week.
I love music, I applied for a job at a concert hall. Seriously, no AI model can replace the feeling of inviting friends over, jamming, trying to cover a song and just having fun.
@Gargron AI bros: "We can't cure cancer, but we can make everything in life meaningless and worthless so that dying isn't so bad.”
@Gargron No better time to start collecting CDs again 💿 Or even, using platforms such as Bandcamp that has completely banned AI 🚫
@Gargron Good video though - looks like some patience and care has gone into it ;)
I have a very good friend who absolutely LOVES to prepare personal suno tracks for us when we are invited over, and I appreciate him for the thought, for sure. But it is always akward, and definetely not as fun and "meaningful" as suno might think it is 😐
@Gargron "Suno lets you make music faster, cheaper and lonelier."
@Gargron "they will want to pay more for these experiences" 🤮
@Gargron Way too long, to begin with.
@Gargron Your comment did not adequately prepare me for how bad this is.
@Gargron All my homes hate AI
