Early September snow begins to dust the White Mountains, adding contrast to the talus slopes in the hills near Nome Creek.

Some info in my hiking guide here:

A rocky ridge in the White Mountains near Nome Creek, Alaska, viewed from above. Dark talus stones fill the foreground, with small patches of fresh snow settled between the rocks. The ridge slopes away into rolling tundra hills and distant mountains under a blue sky with scattered low clouds, showing early autumn conditions with the first snowfall.

A guide to a few hikes in the Nome Creek hills from the Mt. Prindle Campground in the White Mountain National Recreation Area, Alaska. Great off-trail hiking on ridges across gorgeous tundra!
