#doorsday This door is beautiful, of course, but what really intrigued me were those three bears. Were they bought specifically for this purpose? Are they art? Did they just happen to get them and never know where to put them, and voila, here they are, the three of them? I don't know, but I pass by there regularly; and I always have to smile. And sometimes I'm almost ready to ring the doorbell to ask.

A beautifully varnished double wooden door in a chic, old building (probably around 1920). On both sides are walls with small, orange-brown stones, interspersed with rows of white stones. Above the door, three narrow, arched windows stand side by side. Behind each window is a large, white plastic bear. The largest is in the center, and two smaller ones are on the left and right. They are almost as large as the window.

Zum #DoorsDay heute das Tor des Schlosses im oberfränkischen Thurnau. In der Anlage, die im 13. Jahrhundert und auch später erbaut wurde, lebten im Laufe der Zeit mehrere regionale, fränkische Adelsgeschlechter.
