@chris I have no experience with hubzilla, but if there are libraries to use it with python etc. someone could create or port the bridge I did to it or add support for hubzilla to it

my #mastodon #bot actually also works with #friendica accounts, if #hubzilla can be used with mastodon clients chances are high the bot will work with a hubzilla account

@adb It can't. Hubzilla has no support for the Mastodon client API. And it most likely never will because that wouldn't make any sense. The Mastodon client API doesn't even cover 10% of Hubzillas features; in fact, it does not cover a lot of very important everyday features on Hubzilla. If Mastodon doesn't have it, the Mastodon client API doesn't support it.

Besides, Hubzilla prides itself in being pure LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP. So the only proper way to develop something like this for Hubzilla would be to build it as a Hubzilla-specific "app" (which is what Hubzilla calls its add-ons) in PHP and put it into a git repository of its own which can then be added to Hubzilla hubs.
