Een groot schilderij van de beroemde kunstenaar Anselm Kiefer, in perspectief gefotografeerd in het van Gogh Museum. Het is een dor geel en oker landschap met dood stro in rijen met in de gele hemel een aantal zwarte kraaien. Deze symboliseren de dood en heersen over de aarde. Het landschap is de verbeelding van de kunstenaar van het verwoeste land na de tweede wereldoorlog. Al het leven op het land is verdwenen tot aan de gewassen. De grootte van dit schilderij vergroot de impact voor de bezoeker.
