@mairin@fosstodon.org @eob I'd say the email example isn't about the intentions of ActivityPub, but just a warning about the future threats it might face.
Where I disagree with @aral is that I don't think the solution lies in individuals decentralising themselves, but in collectively stopping potential monopolists before they grow big. With email we were caught unaware, but hopefully with ActivityPub we're better prepared to spot them early on.
