What is this?
I’m trying to assemble a list of fixed-lens DSLRs.
What counts?
Anything with a fully optical through the lens viewfinder, which also has a non-removable lens. So, no electronic viewfinder bridge cameras, no interchangeable lens SLRs, and no tunnel or rangefinder viewfinders.
Why?
I think what they did with viewfinders is an interesting part of the ‘weird physical UI’ period in the transition from film to early digital cameras, and more-serious fixed-lens cameras are interesting because the lens and sensor pairings often feel more intentionally designed to work together.
More importantly, there doesn’t seem to be a good list out there. DPReview’s database lists the Olympus E-10 and 20 as having tunnel viewfinders, which is wrong, for example - so just using camera feature search tools won’t get you a real list.
