Right, so uh, why wouldn't #Linux distros developed in the US will just put a notice in the installer that says, "Not for use in #California" and call it a day?
If not based in the US, why would they do anything at all?
This is an unenforceable #law in a world where some OSes are developed by amorphous teams of international volunteers that aren't even in the same legal entity. There are literally thousands of contributors to any Linux OS by the time you count up all the constituent packages.
