Today's (not so small) project, which may take a long time to fully realize:
I need a story for these fellows. Not just a story, but a world, and backstories, and psychiatric profiles among other things. Maybe some stats too.

I am having so much trouble getting started on the story and worldbuilding for this project.
I feel like I’m missing some key element or theme that might bring the whole thing together or give me some idea for the loose plot.
I have a bit of background on the characters planned (some more than others), but not enough to provide a story.
The most defined character right now is the Zhenyuanlong ranger. And for them even all I really know is they kinda just fell out of the Feywilds. They have a bottle of Feywild rainwater and a seed satchel. I want to make the seeds a core goal for them somehow. But what are they planting and why?
The Microraptor rogue is kind of an estranged child from a well established and well off family that ended up in some shady situations. Probably a queer coded character.
And the other two are just kinda there right now.
Maybe I can repurpose some characters and world stuff from one of my scrapped “Cycles” projects that I never finished? I dunno if that would feel right without Ren the Fox and her dragon counterpart though. But maybe it can be the same world without touching on that story, as that world gets rewritten quite a lot in ways that allow many stories of different kinds within it.
I can cut out Parasaurolphis and Borealopelta if necessary, and I’m severely tempted to for the sake of ease, but I definitely want Zhenyuanlong and Microraptor as part of the core group.
If I go for the Cycles world, there’s only one character who would likely show up in this story, and that’s Luça, the sort of creation deity of the world. Chock full of emotional baggage and issues from having power over a world that keeps breaking and reforming in perpetuity. I’d like to explore their character a bit, but I don’t know if this is the right project for it.
@ziphi i know this is virtually impossible, but best thing to do at times like this is literally anything else, so that train of thought gets pushed to the backburner and can cook for a bit.

@ziphi OMGG That´s fire!!1! I love the designs. How or where did u get the inspiration to make them?
And based on the different tools they have, I'd imagine a world with different hierarchies, kinda medieval Jurassic/Cretaceous world
@notmorganlol It’s somewhere between D&D classes and Pokemon Mystery dungeon characters.
I’ve been wanting to do a series of illustrations featuring fantasy story dinos for a while now, so I’ve been steadily trying to come up with backstories and ideas for characters and stuff.
@ziphi do you know Angels With Scaly Wings? Maybe some plot similar to that except with more medieval tech? :o
or perhaps more something like horizon zero dawn where they're getting woken up by long-forgotten machinery to save the world or something :3
