A recent sighting of a Yellow-billed loon (Gavia adamsii). They winter along the Pacific coast of British Columbia. Interesting to notice that its French name translates as White-billed loon.
Une observation récente d'un huard à bec blanc. Il hiverne sur la côte Pacifique de la Colombie-Britannique. Il est intéressant de constater que son nom anglais se traduit par huard à bec jaune.

Bonsoir tout le monde,
Avec sa robe d'un noir ébène et son bec jaune d'or cet oiseau est magnifique mais il est plus que cela avec son chant puissant, flûté et mélodieux qui précède et domine très souvent le concert printanier des oiseaux. C'est pour moi un des meilleurs chanteurs d'Europe, Il n'y a guère de lieux où il ne soit audible de l'aube au coucher du soleil.

Je suis le premier de ma vénérable espèce à essayer ce nouvel abreuvoir de faible profondeur, ~ 2 cm, pas plus ; ce serait pour éviter les bains réguliers des mésanges envahissantes qui n'ont qu'à aller se baigner ailleurs ! 😁

Épervier d'Europe perché sur un de ses postes d'observation dans le jardin. Il est resté là environ une bonne minute avant de brusquement s'envoler pour se poser quelques mètres plus loin dans un cerisier.
