Black and white photo of a gnarly tree by the lake in St James's Park in London in winter. I don't know what type of tree it is but it seems that every branch has so many branches coming from it, and each twig has so many twigs, that it's like a big wooden wig that surrounds the trunk and boughs at the centre. Near the bottom, a few feet above the spreading 'legs' at ground level, is a huge knot created when another bough was cut off near the surface of the trunk. Apple Photos seems to think that it's an oak, but I think it's something out of a dark fairy tale.
