The posters display the face of #NaveedAkram and deliberately mimic the visual style of the “ #Aussie” street art series created by #artist #PeterDrew, appropriating the visual language of inclusive #Australian identity to glorify a perpetrator of #antisemitic mass murder.

The posters were unlawfully plastered on public infrastructure around the CBD.

Anti-Defamation Commission chair Dr #DvirAbramovich condemned the posters in strong terms.

“This is not street #art. This is grave-dancing."

I realised I've now been around here for several years and tooted a ridiculous number of things so it's time for an updated intro to pin to my profile.

I'm Joanna. I live in Melbourne on the lands of the Kulin Nation.

I'm a legal administrator for a conservation not-for-profit. It makes me really happy that my spreadsheet wrangling helps protect threatened creatures and landscapes. In my spare time I'm a (very) amateur but enthusiastic birder- I'm sure neighbours who see me pointing cameras up at trees think I'm strange. I'm obsessed with #eurovision, get a lot of joy out of trashy dance music and have been getting into #MusicalTheatre. I'm always interested in #book recommendations. I post quite a bit about things happening in #Melbourne and love discussing what might make this place better. Long walks through Melbourne make me happy. Lots of gunzels out today on the network getting photos of the last HCMTs to run through the City Loop (at least in the near future).

The problem is that there appears to be a big inconsistency for photography in what we've been told by the Government and what is happening on the ground.

It was made clear from November 2025 that everyone was welcome and encouraged to get into the Metro Tunnel and take as many photos and videos as we want. But for whatever reason photography in the City Loop remains prohibited.

This makes even less sense when you consider somewhere like Melbourne Central / State Library where the stations are closely interlinked.

A confusing and frankly unnecessary inconsistency.
