An old white guy(me) stands in a wetland area of pale gold dry grass, roughly knee-high, uneven partly flattened in places. A little distance away, lowish red willows and grey-brown dwarf birch rise form the grass with small to medium paper birch a little farther, a few smallish poplars(all the deciduous trees are mostly or entirely bare of leaves) and green spruce farther back, as well as off to the left where a mesic (slightly higher ground) woodland begins. The sky is clear and blue.
You see me from the upper thighs up, I'm wearing cheap partly faded grubby blue jeans, a dusty and worn light black cotton adjacent jacket zipped up all the way (over a couple of layers of shirts, we just see a bit of brown poking out the bottom on one side, and some lumps in front from the small pouch/bag I carry with an extra camera battery). My face is partly shaded by the grey/faded black cap I wear with a rough applique maple leaf in the same colour. I'm wearting sort of rectangular glasses, with black upper frame and thin steel below, lenses a little purple in the sunlight. My rosy/orange/tan upper cheeks (and neck, but you can't really see) are shaven with stubble above the jawline and low sideburns /moustache/chin beard all mostly white with a bit of darker hair. My mouth rises a little to one side in a vague approximation of a smile.(or grimace?)
