Taken this day, 2017, Union Canal at dusk https://www.flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_gazette/32884281712

Union Canal, dusk 01

Some more improvised night shots on the way home from work, sitting camera on handy flat-topped railing for stability for few quick shots along the Union Canal. Just a little pale, blue light left in the western horizon as I am coming home from work, but slowly getting lighter a little later each evening. This is taken from the end of the canal, looking west, all very run down just couple of decades ago, and with the huge brewery nearby next to the canal on the right of this pic. Brewery gone and area being redeveloped, while the canalside has already seen a lot of regeneration (the canal itself too - like many old industrial waterways in the UK it is all in working order again, although for leisure use now rather then industry)

Taken this day, 2010 , #BlueHour on the Royal Mile https://www.flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_gazette/4335914876

Royal Mile, dusk

snapped on the way home from work a couple of evenings ago, I love when the sun has gone down but there's still a bit of light left in the western sky to give this effect; I love the shading you get at this time of year, deep, dark blue shifting to lighter as the sky arcs overhead east to west and gives silhouettes of the buildings, somehow even nicer than a full night shot. No tripod so improvised by sitting camera on timer on a bollard

Dreich evening.

Still recovering from the whatever-it-was; much better, but doing a few errands & stair flights today tired me quickly.

Getting there (slowly). Hopefully back at work tomorrow (yes, I'll be careful, & lovely colleagues take care of each other)

Looking past the plate glass window of a barber shop, and along other brightly lit shops, lights reflecting on wet streets as dusk falls

I didn't know there was a La Barantine near Tollcross Primary now.

No café that I could see, appears to be mostly bakery (presumably to supply their other shops), but with small serving window to the street for takeaway. Could be handy on canal walks...

Window with serving hatch to allow sales directly to people on the pavement, with menu below the window, and fresh pastries visible inside
