Late night photo looking out over a wide canal, with the waterfront buildings of the island beyond. The skyline is mainly low houses painted pastel oranges and reds, but in the middle of the image rises the imposing bulk of a grand cathedral, the white front of which is well-lit, and its huge body looming in shadow behind. There are streetlights dotted along the waterfront, which my not-very-good phone camera has picked up as glowing balls of flame. The sky above takes up the top two thirds of the image, with a glorious bright full moon in the top right, making halos around the edges of puffy streaky clouds in every shade of grey. The moon throws a wide shimmering streak of white towards us across the inky black canal water.
