Towering redwoods along Brown Creek Trail

A gentle slope covered in green ferns and 300 foot (100 meter) trees. The trees are spaced out a bit and the sun finds a way down much of their height. They range from a little skinny to extra extra extra wide.

Columbia lily (Lilium columbianum)

A large orange flower hangs from a tall stem, its petals curved back upon themselves. Brown spots get dense toward the middle and giant anthers hang with brown pollen from the middle. A circle of leaves are seen down the stem and a bud for another flower is a little out of focus behind. Behind all that are more green leaves of different plants.

Rhododendrons on the Rhododendron Trail

A big leafed bush (Is it a bush if it can grow to 30 feet (10 meters)?) with clumps of huge pink flowers along two rows of branches. They stretch out in front of more bushes full of flowers and tall redwood trees with dark bark.

Actually, those added sky colors could be pixelation... not sure. Image from today in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (Grizzly Ridge). Image credit National Park Service. #nps #nationalpark #colorado#interpretation #photography #landscapephotography #pixel #pixelation #publiclands
