Bei ihrer Eröffnung 1886 noch ein Sinnbild moderner Zeiten, ist die Standseilbahn in #Lugano zwischen Oberstadt und Kai inzwischen Geschichte, die Trasse von Grün überwuchert. Aber die steile Treppe daneben wird weiterhin genutzt als Fußweg, jetzt für die Fitness - moderne Zeiten heute.

Opened in 1886 as a symbol of modernity, the funicular railway between the upper town and the quay of Lugano is now history, its track rotten and overgrown. But the steep flight of stairs next to it is still used as a footpath, mostly for fitness - modern times of today! Description: Looking up. On the left, a long steep staircase with a person at the top. Next to it an overgrown track of a funicular railway that disappears into a hall or something similar at the top. To the right, lush green vegetation with palm trees separating the track from a multi-storey pink house with balconies and other houses. At the bottom right, above an overgrown wrought-iron entrance gate, an antique sign with the inscription "Funicolare per la città. Funiculaire au quai". Kind ist schon oben, ich quäle mich noch hoch. (OK, ein Familienbild, nicht mein eigenes, darum gibt's als Zugabe noch meine Perspektive, die sieht aber nicht so spektakulär aus) // Kiddo is already at the top, I'm still getting there. (Well, it's a family photo, not my own, obviously. So I'm adding my own POV as well, although it's not as spectacular)
