Cette abeille solitaire à la position étonnante est en faite en train de dormir.

A l'instar des chauve-souris aux pattes autoblocantes , cette abeille possède un verrouillage des mâchoires qui l'empêche de lâcher prise durant son sommeil.

Slickrock Trail
Canyonlands National Park, UT

This is not the famous bike trail of the same name which is in Moab. This foot trail is in the Island in the Sky district of the national park.

The black crusty substance in the foreground is biological soil that is very fragile and valuable. If you see that anywhere do not step on or disturb it as it takes a very long time to recover.
