The view from the Miraflores district of Lima, Peru, looking out to the Pacific. This was from a 2019 visit. We're heading back here on Saturday and will spend three days in Lima before boarding a ship for seventeen days heading north along South and Central America.

We're on a verdant cliff top looking out to sea on a bright, warm, sunny day. The ground slopes and undulates away gently from us for a dozen or so metres, densely packed with lush foliage before the greenery gives way to bare dirt that drops off sharply out of view. There are clearly issues with subsidence or dangers from earthquakes here as the cliff edge has netting pulled taut over it to protect the land we can't see out of view below. The sea is only a slightly darker shade of blue than the sky above, and there's a pier-like structure and stone breakwater extending a little way out from land. The water to the right of it, in front of us, is filled with rolling, breaking waves and indication of churning up of the shallow beach near it, while to the left of the breakwater the sea is far calmer. A high, rocky headland juts out from the left of view towards the horizon.
